Incoming Student 2026-27: Housing Application

We welcome our Fall 2026 incoming first year and transfer students to begin their housing application, open now. We are honored to be a part of your Hoosier Experience.

  1. The first priority window begins February 9, 2026, and ends on May 1, 2026.
  2. The second priority window begins on May 2, 2026 and ends on June 1, 2026.
  3. The third priority window begins on June 2, 2026, and ends on the contract start date in August.

Only current students and future admitted IUB students have access to the IU Housing portal and application.

  • If you recently created your IU computing account, it takes up to an hour to gain access to the housing portal and application.
  • If you are redirected to an IU Knowledge Base article after logging in, your account has not yet been updated in the housing portal and application.
  • If it has been more than an hour since you created your account, please contact IU Housing for assistance.

Steps to create your IU computing account:

  • Navigate to access.iu.edu/starterkit.
  • Enter your last name, birthdate, and University ID.
  • Follow the instructions.
  • It may take up to 1 hour before you can log in to some services.
